Job summary

Salted is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager in Chicago, IL to uphold quality and hospitality standards in a fast-paced, delivery-focused restaurant group. The role leads kitchen staff, aids in inventory and payroll, and ensures safe, efficient operations while maintaining portion control.

You will train team members, collaborate with the Hospitality Team for top-notch service, and support catering orders and daily operations. We offer growth opportunities and a hands-on culinary journey.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership experience.
• Solid culinary skills including knife work and prep.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Support quality control and food presentation standards.
• Communicate effectively with the Hospitality Team for excellent customer service.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Assist in onboarding, training, and developing kitchen staff.
• Assist in managing inventory, conducting audits, and overseeing the budget.
• Help meet financial and operational targets.
• Ensure compliance with recipes and portion sizes.
• Report and resolve customer service issues.
• Assist in scheduling staff and processing payroll.
• Support inventory counts and daily labor management.
• Address equipment and technical issues.
• Assist in executing catering orders while maintaining kitchen service.
