Job summary

The Mad Apple Burger & Billiard Co. in Appleton, WI is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to lead our back-of-house operations in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

You will support the Kitchen Manager, ensure quality, and help deliver the high-energy dining experience we are known for. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in kitchens with supervisory experience, familiarity with food safety and ServSafe, and a hands-on leadership style.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of kitchen or culinary experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant or bar-and-grill environment preferred
• Ability to lead a team with a positive, hands-on management style
• Solid understanding of food cost, inventory management, and kitchen operations
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation meet company standards on every plate

• Assist in scheduling kitchen staff and managing labor to meet business needs
• Step in as acting Kitchen Manager during absences and high-volume service periods
