RM Interior Concepts is seeking a talented, organized, and motivated Assistant Kitchen & Bath Designer to join our growing residential design firm.

We are a concept-to-completion design firm, involved in every stage of a project from initial space planning and design development through selections, cabinetry, ordering, coordination, installation, and final completion.

This is a full-time, in-office position for someone who is passionate about kitchen and bath design and interested in becoming an integral part of a small, highly involved design practice. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Owner/Lead Designer and support projects from initial concept through completion.

We are looking for someone who combines strong design sensibility with excellent organization, communication, and follow-through. This role has the potential to grow into a key position within the firm, with increasing responsibility and project ownership over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with kitchen, bath, laundry, mudroom, bar, and other residential design projects
• Support projects from concept through completion
• Create and revise floor plans, elevations, cabinetry layouts, and design presentations
• Prepare specifications, material selections, and project documentation
• Assist with cabinetry quoting, ordering, and order review
• Source plumbing, lighting, hardware, countertops, tile, and related materials
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, vendors, and suppliers
• Track orders, deliveries, project details, and follow-up items
• Attend client meetings and site visits as needed
• Maintain organized project files, pricing, selections, and schedules
• Support the Lead Designer in managing multiple active projects simultaneously

Position Details

• Full-time
• In-office position in Nanuet, NY
• Compensation: $25–$30 per hour, commensurate with experience
• Benefits are not currently offered

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead designer with the design process including creating proposals, the initial layout, product selections, and the final implementation
• Going to client meetings, keeping notes, and assisting in new measures
• Accurate translation of rough measures into working designs
• Create detailed kitchen and bathroom designs using 20/20
• Manage Houzz Pro account
• Create job site folders with layouts for cabinetry, tile and construction
• Assist in managing the projects, communicating regularly with clients, team and contractors
• Track and check on orders to ensure they arrive on time for projects
• Revises quotes or drawings as customers’ wants, and needs are assessed
• Concept, mood board, and design and research for new projects
• Manage social media channels (Instagram, Facebook)
