Job description

We are now seeking experienced Assistant Infant and Toddler Teachers to join our growing team at a beautiful, state-of-the-art childcare and preschool center located at 3271 E 55th St, Cleveland, OH 44127.

As an Assistant Teacher, you will be an essential member of a team of qualified, talented, and enthusiastic educators dedicated to child development and learning. You must be comfortable working with children aged from 6 weeks to 2 years. All Around Children values collaboration, open communication, and a healthy work-life balance by supporting our teachers every step of the way.

We offer competitive pay ranging from $14.00 to $18.00 per hour (depending on experience and credentials), along with an industry-leading benefits package, demonstrating our commitment to attracting and retaining top-quality staff.

Responsibilities

  1. Support the Lead Teacher with daily responsibilities and duties.
  2. Collaborate with teachers and support staff to design and implement activities tailored to each child's needs.
  3. Maintain a safe, healthy learning environment in compliance with licensing standards.
  4. Assist in planning and conducting educational and recreational activities that promote holistic development.
  5. Keep play, sleep, and changing areas sanitized and clean.
  6. Communicate regularly with families about their child's progress and milestones.
  7. Participate in professional development and staff meetings to stay updated on best practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED at minimum.
  • Possession of a CDA, AA, or higher degree in Early Childhood Education or related fields is a plus but not mandatory.
  • At least one year of experience in licensed child care.
  • Experience working with children aged 6 weeks to 2 years.
  • Current physical health and ability to pass BCI/FBI background checks.
  • Basic communication, writing, and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for infants and toddlers.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Dependability, compassion, and ability to create a nurturing environment.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Tdap and MMR vaccinations, TB screening.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stand, and sit on child-sized furniture for extended periods.
  • Repetitive lifting and moving of children up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfort in noisy environments and readiness for emergency assistance.
  • Physical ability to stay close to children, participate in safety drills, and endure outdoor conditions.
