Job summary

McCarthy Services, part of American Residential Services (ARS), is seeking an Assistant HVAC Service Manager for Springfield, VA. You will assist with managing the service team and supporting daily operations of the HVAC service department.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years in HVAC service, supervisory experience preferred, and strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. You will coordinate technician schedules, monitor performance, and ensure safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the Service Manager in maintaining efficient operations and high-quality service delivery
• Monitor technician performance, workmanship, and customer satisfaction
• Ensure materials, parts, and equipment are ordered and available for scheduled jobs

Responsibilities

• As an Assistant HVAC Service Manager, you will assist with managing the service team and supporting the daily operations of the HVAC service department.
• Assist with supervising and developing the HVAC service team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Help coordinate technician schedules, daily assignments, and service priorities
• Support the Service Manager in maintaining efficient operations and high-quality service delivery
• Monitor technician performance, workmanship, and customer satisfaction
• Ensure materials, parts, and equipment are ordered and available for scheduled jobs
• Review departmental reports including inventory, tools, vehicles, and service metrics
• Conduct job site visits and inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Review payroll records to ensure technicians are properly compensated
• Ensure technicians have the tools, equipment, and resources needed to complete service calls
• Support dispatch operations to ensure appropriate technician assignment and scheduling

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of HVAC service field experience
• Plumbing experience highly preferred
• Supervisory background highly preferred
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suites preferred)
• Strong understanding of residential HVAC systems, service operations, and technician workflow
