The candidate should hold Iowa coaching authorization, CPR, NFHS concussion training, mandatory reporter training, and complete a 55-hour coaching course, with prior coaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Coaching Endorsement.
• Minimum age 18 and a high school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification required.
• NFHS concussion training required.
• Mandatory reporter training required.
• Completion of a 55-hour coaching course (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a structured, competitive program aligned to district and state guidelines.
• Teach sport-specific skills, strategy, conditioning, and teamwork.
• Promote academic accountability and character development among student-athletes.
• Establish clear expectations for conduct, sportsmanship, and effort.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, families, staff, and the community.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and adherence to district and athletic policies.
• Model professionalism, integrity, and positive leadership.
