Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor/Front Desk Agent

Position Summary:

The Assistant Housekeeping Supervisor/Front Desk Agent is responsible for coaching, supervising, inspecting, and training staff to exceed guest expectations. They greet guests courteously, handle inquiries, check-in/out, and reserve rooms. They create a welcoming environment for guests and staff, delivering service excellence.

Essential Functions:
  • Lead and motivate housekeeping staff, coaching and counseling to maintain morale and improve performance.
  • Set standards and procedures for housekeeping operations.
  • Plan work schedules and daily assignments based on occupancy and labor standards.
  • Manage departmental finances, including budgeting, cost control, and reporting.
  • Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of rooms and facilities, ensuring standards are met.
  • Recommend repairs, renovations, and coordinate with engineering for work orders.
  • Enforce security and handling procedures for guest lost and found items.
  • Maintain supplies, conduct inventories, and order necessary materials.
  • Ensure proper use and labeling of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
  • Evaluate furniture, fixtures, and decor for condition and coordinate renovations.
  • Assist guests courteously and professionally, addressing concerns promptly.
  • Handle guest charges, payments, and cash procedures.
  • Manage guest mail/messages with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Stay informed about hotel programs and offers.
  • Communicate effectively with departments regarding guest feedback and issues.
  • Respond quickly to front desk needs and emergencies.
  • Know hotel safety and emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Leadership experience in housekeeping preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Customer service or guest-related experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar applications.
  • Experience with hotel systems like OnQ, Quore, PBX preferred.
  • Fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities under pressure.
