  • Resource Review: Evaluate requests, estimates, and funding needs for personnel, equipment, materials, and future projects
  • Agility Coordination: Develop, negotiate, monitor, and assess agility agreements while working with local partners to set project priorities
  • Field Inspection: Conduct inspections of operational activities, subordinate supervisors, and contracted maintenance or construction work

This position assists the County Maintenance Manager by helping to plan, supervise, and oversee maintenance operations throughout an assigned area of Fayette County. Through your work, you will ensure that roadway projects, crew activities, environmental responsibilities, and operational needs are managed with efficiency and accuracy. As an Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager, you will perform the following duties:

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

  • This position requirespossession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
