The ideal candidate will work closely with the head coach to develop players' skills, promote teamwork, and instill a strong work ethic both on and off the court.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and implementing daily practices, game strategies, and training sessions.
• Support the recruitment and retention of student‑athletes, ensuring a positive experience for all participants.
• Provide individual and team instruction in basketball fundamentals, techniques, and strategies.
• Monitor student‑athlete academic performance and promote a balance between athletics and academics.
• Help organize and manage team logistics, including travel arrangements, equipment inventory, and scheduling.
• Foster a culture of sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork among players.
• Collaborate with other coaching staff, athletic department personnel, and parents to support the overall goals of the program.
• Assist in scouting opponents and analyzing game footage to improve team performance.
• Attend staff meetings, coaching clinics, and professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills.
• Uphold the values and mission of Bethany High School and the athletic program at all times.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and rules.
