Job summary

University School of Nashville, a premier K–12 institution with about 1,100 students, seeks an Assistant Head of School. This senior leader will guide academic programming, coordinate across Lower, Middle, and High School divisions, and partner with faculty and administrators to advance mission-driven outcomes.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of and experience leading in a large, multi-divisional school
• Ability to communicate with clarity to internal and external audiences

• Experience recruiting, hiring, and supporting a broadly diverse faculty and staff
• Capacity to articulate vision, strategy, and implement systems for academic programs

Responsibilities

• Serve as a key thought partner to the Director, contributing to the school leadership team
• Support and refine USN’s academic program across divisions
• Provide leadership to division heads and support professional development
• Coordinate with Diversity and Community Life to foster inclusive learning environments
• Engage with families, faculty, students, and the Board as needed
• Represent the Director at internal and external meetings and committees
