Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise and train personnel on assigned shift.
• Advanced knowledge of custodial care programs and practices.
• Ability to relate to administrators, teachers, students, and visitors.
• Ability to hear and follow oral instructions in English.
• Ability to read and follow written English instructions at a 6th grade level.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising custodial staff to maintain a safe, clean learning environment.
• Attend staff development sessions and provide training to custodial staff.
• Inspect work and provide supplemental training to meet standards.
• Maintain positive working relationships with team and other staff.
• Assist in development of work schedules and assignments for custodians.
• Monitor daily work and adjust schedules; oversee substitutes during absences.
• Ensure proper use of chemicals and equipment per GCPS policies; assist with purchasing and inventory.
• Arrange opening/closing of facilities as instructed; support task assignment and scheduling.
• Manage custodial expenditures within budget; coordinate purchases and overtime with staff.
• Support on-site maintenance and setup for activities; report issues and coordinate repairs.
• Suggest alternative cleaning practices and provide feedback on improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
