Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write English and perform simple arithmetic.
• Must follow oral and written directions and work well with others.
• Must stand for long periods and be able to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Must demonstrate good problem-solving and independent judgment.
• Relevant food safety certifications are required or encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food for the breakfast and lunch program according to recipes and safety standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment (ovens, steamers, kettles, grill, dishwasher, etc.).
• Set up serving line, serve meals, and keep serving line stocked.
• Maintain sanitation, proper food temperatures, and safe storage of foods.
• Attend in-service training and assist Head Cook as needed.
