MAIN FUNCTION: The Assistant Group Supervisor must assist the Group Supervisor or Program Leader in all aspects of his/her classroom functioning (planning, program, etc.), and in the absence of the Group Supervisor must assume the leadership of the classroom's teaching team and subsequently become accountable for all aspects of the total room functioning. The Assistant Group Supervisor is responsible for the safety of the children in his/her care.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Group Supervisor or Program Leader and Program Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred: A high school diploma with an Infant/Toddler CDA, and 15 hours credit in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field from an accredited college or university; and one year of work experience related to the care and development of young children.
Minimum Required: A high school diploma with CDA, and 2 years work experience with young children.
