What is needed for this job
High school diploma or equivalent, or enrollment in 2+ years of child development coursework
2+ years verified child care experience
Prior experience working with children (professional, volunteer, or familial)
Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
Ability to pass all relevant clearances and keep up to date on trainings including but not limited to 6 hours of child care related trainings annually
The responsibilities we will trust you with:
Finding new and engaging ways to help kids learn, while maintaining control of environments that build children’s self esteem
Implement curriculum for program; ensuring child centered and developmentally appropriate learning experiences, including potentially overseeing classroom staff
Providing quality and appropriate adult/child interactions through engagement, positive and encouraging feedback, and asking open ended questions
Utilize positive reinforcement techniques for redirection as a form of behavior management
Being patient and kind with our parents/guardians, communicating effectively and in a timely manner
Accurately maintain daily attendance records, emergency contact binders, and allergy reports, as well as compliant paperwork within timesheets, incident reports, weekly reports, and child observation reports
Ensure centers are maintained with quality learning materials, organized accordingly in labeled containers associated with appropriate learning center
Attend team-planning meetings monthly or more as needed
