Qualifications

  • Must be at least 17 years old.
  • Must be enrolled in a high school or equivalent program.
  • Immunity to measles, mumps and rubella; evidence required.
  • EEC tuberculosis screening must be current.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required or obtained within two months.
  • Bi-lingual skills a plus; CORI/DCF background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing program policies and maintain attendance records.
  • Work at all school age sites as assigned and supervise children.
  • Maintain a 1:13 supervision ratio and support daily curriculum.
  • Provide respectful communication and positive behavior guidance.
  • Assist in creating the weekly curriculum and daily activity plans.
  • Ensure clean, organized spaces and proper end-of-day cleanup.
  • Participate in case management of families and share concerns with Site Coordinator.
  • Maintain confidentiality of children and families.
  • Expand knowledge of the cultural and ethnic heritage of families served.
  • Uphold CTI values: Equity, Integrity, Compassion.

Assistant Group Leader – Part time - up to 19.5 hours weekly.
Pay Range $19.09 - $19.09 per hour

Position Summary

The Assistant Group Leader will be responsible for providing before school and after school care for children in CTI’s School Age Program. They will receive staffing assignments regarding daily curriculum, provide supervision to children in 1:13 ratio, and act as a coach to the youth enrolled.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in implementing program policies and procedures including maintaining accurate attendance and other records, following Early Education and Care Regulations and USDA Guidelines.
  2. Responsible for working at all school age sites as assigned.
  3. Provide supervision and safety of children. Maintain a daily group list and attendance.
  4. Recognize the child enrolled as an individual, helping children to develop as a member of the group.
  5. Present respectful communication and maintain standards for behavior through a positive approach.
  6. Assist in creating the weekly curriculum.
  7. Assist with daily activities and follow the daily curriculum plans and schedule, cannot be left alone with children
  8. Maintain clean and organized workspaces that include setting up the daily spaces (i.e.: breaking down tables, rearranging the spaces and cleaning at the end of the day).
  9. Participate in case management of families involved. Share concerns about children and families with Site Coordinator.
  10. Maintain confidentiality of children and families.
  11. Broaden knowledge of the cultural and ethnic heritage of the children and families served.
  12. Uphold the values of CTI – Equity, Integrity, Compassion.

The duties listed above are representative of the work performed. Other related duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
  1. Must be minimum of 17 years old
  2. Must be enrolled in High School or equivalent program
  3. Evidence of physical exam within one-year prior to date of hire. Evidence of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella.
  4. Compliance with current EEC tuberculosis screening.
  5. Must have updated certification in CPR and First Aid, as required by EEC or obtained within two months of employment.
  6. Bi-lingual skills a plus.
  7. Must be enrolled in High School or GED equivalent.
  8. CORI/DCF review prior to employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish, English/Khmer English/Portuguese)
  • Prior experience working with school-aged children.
