Job summary

Community Teamwork Inc in Lowell, MA seeks an Assistant Group Leader (part-time) to provide before and after school care in CTI’s School Age Program. You will receive staffing assignments, supervise children in a 1:13 ratio, and act as a coach to the youth enrolled.

Applicants must be at least 17, enrolled in high school or GED, provide a recent physical, immunity to measles/mumps/rubella, and pass CORI/DCF screening. CPR/First Aid certification is required or obtained within two months.

Qualifications

  • Must be minimum of 17 years old.
  • Must be enrolled in High School or equivalent program.
  • Evidence of physical exam within one-year prior to date of hire.
  • Evidence of immunity to measles, mumps, and rubella.
  • Compliance with current EEC tuberculosis screening.
  • Must have updated certification in CPR and First Aid, as required by EEC or obtained within two months of employment.
  • Bi-lingual skills a plus.
  • CORI/DCF review prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing program policies and procedures including maintaining accurate attendance and other records, following Early Education and Care Regulations and USDA Guidelines.
  • Responsible for working at all school age sites as assigned.
  • Provide supervision and safety of children. Maintain a daily group list and attendance.
  • Recognize the child enrolled as an individual, helping children to develop as a member of the group.
  • Present respectful communication and maintain standards for behavior through a positive approach.
  • Assist in creating the weekly curriculum.
  • Assist with daily activities and follow the daily curriculum plans and schedule, cannot be left alone with children
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces that include setting up the daily spaces (i.e.: breaking down tables, rearranging the spaces and cleaning at the end of the day).
  • Participate in case management of families involved. Share concerns about children and families with Site Coordinator.
  • Maintain confidentiality of children and families.
  • Broaden knowledge of the cultural and ethnic heritage of the children and families served.
  • Uphold the values of CTI – Equity, Integrity, Compassion.

Position Summary

The duties listed above are representative of the work performed. Other related duties may be assigned.
