Job summary

The Arc of Somerset County is seeking an Assistant Group Home Manager for a Day Program/Employment Services, 8am–4pm, in Somerset County, NJ. This full-time on-site role supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, teaching independent living skills and coordinating transportation and medical appointments.

Responsibilities include medication management, staff training, and ensuring accurate documentation and timely reports.

Responsibilities

• Maintain staff training and beeper schedules.
• Submit required reports on schedule.
• Maintain Therap do-logs.
• Handle and document financial transactions for consumer accounts; reconcile monthly.
• Oversee program and vehicle maintenance; schedule regular services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

• Teach independent living skills and assist with/provide consumers with personal care.
• Arrange/provide transportation for consumers.
• Assist consumers with recreation/inclusion, plan vacations.
• Administer, monitor and record medication distribution according to policy. Review and ensure completion of all medical logs.
• Coordinate all medical appointments, ensure all related documentation is accurate and complete, attend appointments when needed.
• Ensure all medical recommendations and follow up are communicated and completed in a timely fashion.
• Coordinate/provide all necessary agency and intra-program staff training; provide staff with all necessary information needed to effectively carry out their job duties.
• Ensure proper communication of all consumer issues/needs to all necessary parties; proactively teach/role model/guide staff on how to appropriately work with and interact with consumers, other staff, families, and guardians.
• Address staff concerns as needed; encourage staff to share ideas and suggestions.
• Attend all staff meetings, and other consumer-related meetings.
• Ensure staff, training, and beeper schedules are received and posted.
• Complete and submit all required daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as scheduled.
• Using Therap do logs
• Handle and document all financial transactions for consumer accounts in accordance with agency and DDD policy; reconcile all consumer accounts monthly.
• Ensure preventative maintenance of the program/vehicles(s) including regular vehicle service and inspections.
• Perform other duties as required by the nature of the position, or as requested by supervisor.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Undergraduate degree in relevant field preferred.
