Job summary

Alternatives, Inc. in Somerset, NJ is seeking a full-time Assistant Group Home Manager to support adults with developmental disabilities and oversee the residential group home program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen.
• Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening.
• Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including medication administration, cooking, personal hygiene, and transportation to medical appointments.
• Implement individual behavioral plans and teach residents new skills according to their preferences.
• Encourage community outings and recreational activities and help residents access the community.
• Assist Group Home Manager with staff scheduling, budgeting, and communication with doctors/guardians; perform fire drills and related duties.
• Past Direct Support Professional experience is helpful for this role.
