Job summary

U.S. Soccer Federation is seeking an Assistant Grounds Mechanic to support maintenance of turf equipment and golf carts at the National Training Center near Atlanta.

You will work with the Grounds Mechanic and Director of Turf and Grounds to keep equipment in safe, reliable condition for world-class training surfaces. The role requires basic mechanical experience, knowledge of small engines and hydraulic systems, and the ability to safely use tools and diagnostic equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include basic mechanical experience with turf, landscape, agricultural, or automotive equipment.
• Working knowledge of small engines, hydraulic systems, diesel engines, and power equipment.
• Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Grounds Mechanic with preventive maintenance and daily servicing of turf maintenance equipment (mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, sprayers, etc.).
• Perform basic troubleshooting, inspections, lubrication, blade and reel adjustments, oil changes, tire repairs, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Assist with diagnosing mechanical and hydraulic issues and completing repairs in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the equipment shop, maintenance areas, and storage facilities.
• Support equipment setup and preparation for daily trainings, tournaments, and special events.
