Sprouts Farmers Market in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager to help oversee a busy department, deliver excellent customer service, and lead one of the store's busiest teams. You will assist the Grocery Manager with ordering, inventory controls, staff supervision, scheduling, and driving sales while upholding health and safety standards.

The role requires 1–3 years retail management experience, strong communication, leadership, and a customer-first attitude; flexible schedule

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and 1-3 years retail management experience. Familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets preferred.
• Be dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to follow and give direction in a team environment.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and strong customer interaction skills.
• Proven leadership to build, motivate and maintain staff with knowledge of personnel and sales reports.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Must lift and transfer milk trays up to 60 lbs., and move boxes up to 50 lbs., for extended periods.
• Repetitive squatting/kneeling/bending to reach low areas for up to 30 hours.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
• Lead a team that brainstorms to deliver high-quality products and the best customer experience
• Assist in hiring, training, and developing the Grocery Team
• Unload and sort store deliveries
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
• Support a fast-paced environment and welcome customer engagement
