Albertsons Companies in Merrimack, NH is seeking an Assistant Grocery Department Manager to oversee daily Grocery Department operations, drive sales, and ensure optimal in-stock conditions and pricing. You will lead with a hands-on style to uphold merchandising standards and strong customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes coaching and developing associates, executing planograms and promotions, while maintaining food safety, sanitation, and company standards to support

Qualifications

• Experience in grocery or retail leadership preferred.
• Ability to analyze sales and inventory data.
• Able to train and coach associates.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Grocery Department with focus on customer service and readiness.
• Deliver friendly, prompt customer service and resolve concerns professionally.
• Ensure shelves, displays, and aisles are clean, full, front-faced, and merchandised to standards.
• Assist with planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising.
• Assist with managing orders, inventory, product rotation, and backroom organization.
• Help monitor shrink and implement loss reduction procedures.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and standards.
• Train, coach, schedule, and develop associates while fostering a positive team environment.
• Perform duties as needed and step in for the Grocery Manager when required.

Main Responsibilities

• Help oversee daily operations of the Grocery Department with a focus on customer service, sales, and department readiness

• Perform Grocery Department duties as needed and assume responsibility for department operations in the absence of the Grocery Manager
