Overview
Ironwood Country Club, a premier private 36-hole member-owned facility set against the foothills of the Santa Rosa Mountains, is seeking an energetic, service-oriented Assistant Golf Professional. This role assists in managing daily golf operations, member tournaments, player development, and upscale retail management to deliver an exceptional private club experience.
Qualifications & Requirements
- PGA/LPGA Status: Class A Member in good standing, or active PGA Associate enrolled in the PGM program.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of golf operations experience, ideally in a private club environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Golf Genius, POS platforms (Fore Tee's & Club Essential), launch monitors, and MS Office.
- Physical & Schedule Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in desert weather conditions. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and early mornings throughout the peak season.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist in running the day-to-day golf operation.
- Service the members.
- Deliver high-touch customer service for members and guests across tee-sheet management, check-in, and daily play.
- Supervise outside service staff, golf cart fleet maintenance, practice facilities, and starter/ranger operations.
- Enforce club rules, dress codes, and manage pace of play across both championship courses.
Tournament Operations
- Assist with organizing, staging, and scoring men's, women's, and mixed member events using Golf Genius.
- Coordinate course setup, local rules sheets, printed materials, and prize distribution.
Merchandising & Retail Management
- Maintain an upscale, boutique-style Golf Shop presentation through dynamic visual merchandising, mannequin styling, and regular stock rotation.
- Support inventory control: receive, tag, and stock shipments; participate in monthly audits; and track stock in the POS system.
- Manage member special orders from placement to delivery with prompt, high-touch communication.
- Assist with vendor demo days, custom equipment orders, and tournament tee-gift display setups.
Instruction & Player Development
- Conduct individual lessons, clinics, and junior programs; assist with custom club fittings using modern launch monitor technology.
- Administer the USGA/GHIN handicap system for members.
