Job summary

Twice in Arizona is seeking an Operations Assistant to support daily golf operations, including sales, merchandise, point-of-sale activity, handicap and tee sheet management, and service roles for members and guests.

You will also assist in golf activities and instruction while contributing to an excellent guest experience and coordinating with departments to maintain high standards of service.

Qualifications

  • AA degree or 6 months to 1 year related experience, or equivalent
  • Current PGA/LGPA Membership is required
  • PGA Level 2 or higher preferred
  • Ability to read and speak English is required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with computerized POS and tee time system
  • Regularly stands, walks and sits; physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Assist in administering POS revisions for green fee sales, merchandise, and member billing
  • Coordinate with Accounting on policy revisions and implementations
  • Reconcile daily tee sheets, check-in, and collect payments
  • Resolve discrepancies with duplicate charges or payments
  • Track force posts and no-show charges
  • Initiate and promote club golf activities
  • Create lesson plans and provide individual and group instruction
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked golf shop and assist with merchandising
  • Prepare materials for golf outings (scorecards, rules, pairing sheets)
  • Monitor scores and report handicapping to USGA
  • Assist in interviewing, training, and supervising staff
  • Ensure effective orientation and ongoing training for associates
  • Monitor forecasts and manpower planning to manage costs and productivity
  • Maintain safe work practices and regular attendance
  • Perform other duties as required

Job description

Overview

Assists in administering all daily golf operations, including sales, merchandise support, POS operation, handicap and tee sheet applications, and service roles such as ranger, starter, guest relations, outside service, or golf shop shifts. The role also supports golf activities and instruction while contributing to an excellent member and guest experience.

Experience Required
  • Associate's degree (AA); or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current PGA/LGPA Membership.
  • PGA Level 2 or higher preferred.
  • Ability to read and speak English is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with computerized POS and tee time system.
  • Regularly stands, walks and sits.
  • Occasionally climbs or balances; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
  • Frequently uses hands and reaches with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Assist in administering point of sale application revisions and needs for green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member/guest billing.
  • Coordinate with Accounting Departments on policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation.
  • Reconcile daily tee sheets, perform check-in, and receive payments from members and guests.
  • Resolve discrepancies involving duplicate charges and over or under payment.
  • Track all force posts and no-show charges as applicable.
  • Initiate and promote club golf activities.
  • Create lesson plans and provide both individual and group instruction.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop and assist with merchandising and sales.
  • Prepare materials for golf outings including scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets, and hole assignments.
  • Monitor members' scores, report handicapping to USGA, and bill members.
  • Assist the manager in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, disciplining associates, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Assist in managing department team members including starters, player assistants, and guest services attendants.
  • Ensure effective orientation and training for new associates and assist in developing ongoing training programs.
  • Assist in monitoring business volume forecasts and planning manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses accordingly.
  • Implement and maintain excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
  • Conduct staff meetings with subordinates.
  • Incorporate safe work practices in job performance.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as required.
