Job summary

Waialae Country Club, a private membership club, seeks an Assistant Golf Professional to join the Golf Pro Shop team. The role is full-time (30+ hours weekly) and reports to the First Assistant Golf Professional.

Expect ongoing member engagement, tee-time bookings, and support for club tournaments. The successful candidate will have 6 months to 1 year in a related role, be able to use Word/Excel/USGA GHIN and tee sheets, possess a valid driver’s license, and pursue PGA/LPGA membership while

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of related experience.
• Private club experience preferred.
• Ability to use Word, Excel, email, USGA GHIN software, and tee sheet/GPS software.
• Must have a valid driver’s license; PGA/LPGA membership in progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service by engaging with members and guests and meeting their needs.
• Assist members at the counter and on the phone with inquiries and tee time bookings.
• Operate the POS system and process payments.
• Advise members about attire and playing privileges of different membership classifications.
• Assist with club tournaments and recruit tournament participants.
• Maintain records for lost/found clubs.
• Maintain water and coffee service area and raise flags each morning.
• Back up the First Assistant Professional and assist the retail department when needed.

Waialae Country Club is a private membership club, which provides its members with a championship golf course, dining services, health/recreational facilities, and host of the Sony Championship Hawaii in 2027. Position Details

• Position: Assistant Golf Professional.
• Status: Full-Time (30+ hours per week).
• Department: Golf Pro Shop.
• Reports to: First Assistant Golf Professional.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides excellent service by engaging with members/guests and ensuring their needs are met.
• Assists members at the counter and over the phone with inquiries and booking tee times.
• Operates point of sale system and receives and processes payments.
• Advises members/guests about attire and playing privileges of the various membership classifications.
• Assists Head Golf Professional and First Assistant Professional with successfully running Club tournaments; and recruiting tournament participants.
• Maintains records for lost/found clubs.
• Maintains the water and coffee service area; and assists with raising flags each morning.
• Serves as backup to First Assistant Professional and assists the retail department when needed.

Requirements

• 6 months - 1 year related experience. Previous experience at a private membership club preferred.
• Ability to perform general administrative duties including filing, taking messages, and data entry.
• Ability to use Word, Excel, email, USGA GHIN software, and tee sheet/GPS software.
• Must have an unexpired Driver's License.
• Registered member of PGA/LPGA (or actively working towards membership).
• Must be able to drive a golf cart and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Range

$23.00-$27.00/hour depending on experience and PGA certification level plus lesson income.
