Job summary
Rocky Point Golf Course, part of the Baltimore County Revenue Authority, is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Golf Course Superintendent in Essex, MD. This full-time role supervises turfgrass maintenance staff, coordinates daily activities, and assists with agronomic programs and course setup for tournament preparation.
Minimum qualifications include a Turfgrass Management certification/degree, 3 years of maintenance experience, a valid driver's license, and pesticide
Qualifications
- This position requires a Turfgrass Management certification or related degree.
- Minimum of three years of progressive golf course maintenance experience.
- Valid driver's license and Maryland Pesticide Applicator Certification or ability to obtain.
Responsibilities
- Supervises turfgrass maintenance employees and directs daily duties.
- Assists with hiring, training, coaching and performance management.
- Conducts daily crew meetings and assigns work.
- Promotes safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
- Assists in scheduling labor, equipment and resources.
- Oversees course setup and tournament preparation.
- Coordinates maintenance projects and improvements.
- Assists with budgeting and cost control efforts.
