Job summary

Olympia Fields Country Club is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our team in maintaining two championship golf courses, the North and South courses. You will manage all general maintenance duties, including fertilizer and pesticide calibration and application, irrigation and drainage work, pest scouting, and staff supervision.

The ideal candidate brings a minimum two-year turf degree and 3–4 years of golf course experience, plus the ability to lead and develop the maintenance team.

• Pesticide application test/certification within 30 days.

Summary

Olympia Fields Country Club is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our team in maintaining our prestigious golf course.

As the Assistant Superintendent, you will be responsible for all aspects of general golf course maintenance, including fertilizer and pesticide calibration and application, irrigation repair and installation, drainage repair and installation, pest scouting and monitoring, and supervision of staff.

The Club operates two championship golf courses, the North Course and the South Course, each with a rich history of hosting major events. The South Course underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2021 led by golf course architect Andy Staples, including enhancements to greens, fairways, bunkers, drainage, and overall course strategy. The Assistant Superintendent will have the opportunity to help maintain and further develop the South Course while also playing a key role in the comprehensive restoration of the North Course led by golf course architect Andrew Green.

This position provides a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with both the long‑term management of a recently renovated golf course and the construction, grow-in, and establishment of a major championship restoration project. The North Course restoration will prepare the course for its next chapter and future championship events.

Education & Experience

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with a minimum of a two-year degree from an accredited turf school and at least three to four years of golf course experience. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a desire to continue developing professionally, and the ability to assume the duties of a Golf Course Superintendent within the next several years. This position offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an individual looking to advance their career while gaining experience on two championship golf courses.

Expected Work Hours

• This is a full-year, full-time position.
• Required to have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays based on Club needs.
