Job summary

Anchor Point Management Group in Portland, OR is seeking a Bench/Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in operating the restaurant, maintaining a safe environment, and boosting profitability through revenue management.

You will lead staffing, training, guest relations, and quality control, with a focus on coaching managers, managing invoices and inventory, and driving growth through promotions and effective P&L oversight.

Qualifications

• Understanding of restaurant operations, food safety, and responsible alcohol service.
• High school diploma (or equivalent) required; 1–3 years leadership/restaurant experience preferred.
• Team-first mindset with strong leadership; builds culture and leads by example.
• High energy and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist General Manager with staffing planning and hiring decisions.
• Conduct weekly manager meetings with the General Manager.
• Create, develop, and implement incentive programs and contests with assigned Department Managers.
• Actively motivate team members to participate in company promotions and incentives.
• Provide regular performance feedback and recognition to Department Managers and all team members, including timely performance appraisals.
• Coaching other managers on effective performance management procedures.
• Assist with ongoing performance management and development of assigned Department Managers.
• Oversee guest feedback programs and resolve guest complaints in a timely manner.
