Job summary

Guest Services, Inc. is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in daily operations and administrative management. You will directly supervise all non-exempt and professional staff and ensure high service quality across the center.

The role emphasizes opening/closing management, staff scheduling, hiring, payroll, customer service, and safety. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, with boating/marine experience and DC licensing beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• First aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to swim.
• 1-3 years of management experience.
• Boating and/or marine related experience.
• Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated talent for interacting with a wide variety of people; ability to organize multiple priorities; problem solve.
• District of Columbia Boaters Education Card Drivers License Marina Manager Certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist in overall management of unit operations and direct staff.
• Plan and manage daily operations; execute opening/closing MOD procedures.
• Supervise staff; train new employees; delegate tasks; monitor performance.
• Recruit and interview candidates; complete hiring paperwork and payroll entries.
• Oversee front desk operations; promote service excellence.
• Respond to customer inquiries; resolve complaints; communicate with GM.
• Inspect facility daily; report safety or quality issues to GM.
• Review plans and merchandising with GM; manage inventory and displays.
• Support budgeting, P&L monitoring and revenue initiatives with GM.
