Job summary

Vail Resorts in Truckee, CA seeks an Assistant Manager for Food & Beverage to support daily operations, manage staff, and ensure exceptional dining experiences for guests during the winter season.

Ideal candidates bring 3–5 years of restaurant experience with supervisory exposure, a ServSafe certification, and the ability to lead teams while upholding safety and quality standards in a mountain resort setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s or Culinary degree preferred.
• ServSafe certification or regional equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of restaurant experience, 1+ years supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously; lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Must be fluent in English; bilingual preferred.
• Ability to ski or snowboard strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend to all guest needs in the restaurant ensuring responsive, friendly service.
• Assist managing dining operations and performance for front and back of house, including training, scheduling, and directing staff.
• Review staff performance and behavior to provide feedback and direction, including recognition or corrective action.
• Assist with administrative duties including hiring, cash management, reservations, purchasing, inventory, and records.
• May act as manager in the absence of Restaurant Manager.
• Maintain facility standards for food preparation, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation per laws and regs.
• Participate in leadership forums providing feedback and input on dining operations, training, and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

The expected pay range is$25.00/h - $35.20/h. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
