Job summary

KidStrong in Austin, TX is seeking an Assistant General Manager to be second-in-command to the General Manager, driving center growth, inspiring coaches, and delivering an exceptional experience for kids and families.

You’ll lead sales and events, manage operations, and mentor the coaching team in a high-energy, kid-focused culture with clear pathways for internal growth. The role includes hands-on coaching 5–10 hours weekly and outbound member acquisition.

Qualifications

• Child development & athletic background with coaching/sports experience for ages 15 mos–11 yrs; Pediatric OT/PT experience is a plus.
• Driven sales mindset: comfortable with high-volume outbound calls, closing sales, and meeting targets.
• Natural leader who brings energy, growth mindset and models high standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead member acquisition with outbound calls (75–100 per day).
• Finalize trial sales and memberships by phone and in-center.
• Sell and schedule revenue-boosting events (camps, parties, community pop-ups).
• Act as Manager on Duty when GM is off; onboard and mentor coaches.
• Track KPIs, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain community relationships.
• Oversee daily/weekly/monthly center operations, safety and brand standards.
• Deliver hands-on coaching (5–10 hours/week) focusing on Brain, Physical, and Character development.

What You’ll Do

1. Sales & Growth

• Lead member acquisition by conducting outbound call drives (75–100 calls/day) to new and interested leads.


• Finalize trial sales and memberships both over the phone and in-center.


• Sell and schedule revenue-boosting events, including Spring/Summer camps, birthday parties, and community pop-ups.

2. Team Leadership & Coaching Culture

• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) when the General Manager is off.


• Partner with the GM to onboard, train, evaluate, and mentor coaches using the KidStrong Coach DNA framework.


• Foster a feedback-rich coaching culture (\"see something, say something\") and model high standards across Slack, email, and center operations.


• Manage the Lead Coach/Sales Manager.

3. Center Operations & Experience

• Track center KPIs, sales numbers, and member retention to make smart operational decisions.


• Deliver top-tier customer service, resolving family inquiries and maintaining strong community relationships.


• Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly center maintenance, equipment safety, and brand standards.

4. Hands-On Coaching (5–10 Hours/Week)

• Deliver the KidStrong curriculum focusing on Brain, Physical, and Character development for kids ages 15 months to 11 years.


• Use the KS Coaches App to track attendance, awards, and student progress.

Who You Are

• Child Development & Athletic Background: Prior coaching/sports experience working with kids (ages 15 mos – 11 yrs) is a must. Pediatric OT/PT experience is a major plus!


• Driven Sales Mindset: Comfortable making high-volume outbound phone calls, closing sales, and hitting performance goals.
