Job summary

Terrain Cafe in Westport, CT is seeking a seasoned Front of House Manager to lead a brand-aligned guest experience and manage a hourly team. You will recruit, onboard, train, and mentor staff while directing floor operations during peak hours.

The role emphasizes sustaining brand standards, hands-on leadership, and collaboration with the home office to maintain staffing. This is a full-time, on-site position in a dynamic hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• 5 years restaurant management experience.
• 1-2 years HR, staff scheduling, or administrative experience preferred.
• Experience with restaurant software such as POS systems and OpenTable.
• Experience contributing opening a new restaurant location is a plus.
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 10 hours) and perform physical tasks.

• Act as the first line of defense for shift challenges, guest needs.

Requirements

• 5 years restaurant management experience
• 1-2 years relevant HR, staff scheduling, or administrative experience preferred
• Experience with restaurant technical applications, including POS & OpenTable
• Experience contributing opening new restaurant location preferred
• Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
• Ability to reach, bend and stoop.
