About The Position

We are looking for an experienced and motivated hospitality professional with a strong background in fine dining to join the leadership team at Xiquet by Danny Lledó. The ideal candidate has proven management experience, a passion for exceptional service, and the drive to take the next step in their career.

As Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager and ownership team to oversee daily restaurant operations, lead the front-of-house team, and ensure that every aspect of the guest experience reflects the standards of a Michelin-starred restaurant.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional who has developed a strong foundation in fine dining and management and is ready to take on greater responsibility, develop their leadership skills, and grow into a senior restaurant leadership role.

The Assistant General Manager will play an important role in maintaining our service standards, developing our team, and supporting the continued growth of the restaurant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the General Manager in the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring smooth and consistent service
  • Lead and support front-of-house operations while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality
  • Help train, mentor, and develop front-of-house team members, fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, and teamwork
  • Maintain and reinforce service standards, including guest interaction, timing, communication, and attention to detail
  • Assist with staff scheduling, daily assignments, pre-service meetings, and ongoing team development
  • Work closely with the culinary and beverage teams to ensure strong communication and coordination between departments
  • Assist with beverage, wine, and service operations while maintaining strong product knowledge
  • Monitor guest feedback and proactively address concerns to ensure a thoughtful and memorable experience
  • Assist with private events, special dinners, and other restaurant programming
  • Support inventory, purchasing, cost control, and other operational responsibilities as needed
  • Assist with administrative responsibilities including reporting, labor management, and operational organization
  • Help uphold health, safety, cleanliness, and compliance standards
  • Serve as a leader on the floor and set the standard for professionalism, hospitality, and teamwork
  • Take on increasing operational responsibility as you develop within the role

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a hospitality team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to hospitality and service excellence
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations, labor management, and cost control
  • Wine and beverage knowledge strongly preferred
  • Ability to lead by example and maintain composure in a demanding service environment
  • ServSafe certification and DC DOH certification preferred, or the ability to obtain required certifications within 30 days
