Constellation Culinary Group, part of Elior North America, seeks an Assistant General Manager in San Francisco, CA to partner with the GM and lead daily food service operations. You will drive guest and client experiences, develop the team and hit financial targets.

Qualifications

• Six+ years of direct foodservice operation management experience.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, cost controls and presentation.
• Familiarity with HACCP controls and proper storage and use of food.
• Strong financial and business acumen.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing food service operations within the approved budget.
• Assist with financial reporting and budgeting processes.
• Manage salaried managers and hourly staff.
• Lead hiring, onboarding and training with a focus on team growth.

The Role at a glance

We are looking to add a skilled, motivated assistant general manager to our Constellation Culinary Group team in San Francisco, CA.

Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager partners with the General Manager to lead daily food service operations, deliver exceptional guest and client experiences, develop the team, and achieve financial and operational goals.

This position is ideal for a high-potential hospitality leader preparing to advance into a General Manager role. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the operation independently when the General Manager is supporting other locations and provide operational support across California, including new venue openings, vacation coverage, leadership transitions, and special projects.

What you’ll be doing

• Assisting with managing food service operations in accordance with the approved budget.
• Assisting with all financial reporting and budgeting.
• Managing salaried managers and hourly associates.
• Taking responsibility for all hourly hiring, on-boarding, and training with a strong focus on team member growth.
• Establishing and maintaining good rapport with staff, clients, and guests.
• Managing purchasing and inventory controls.

What we’re looking for

Must-haves

• At least six years’ experience in direct foodservice operation management.
• Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.

Compensation Range

$80,000 - $95,000
