Job summary

Shamin Hotels in Portsmouth, Virginia is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing hotel operations, revenue and cost control, and guest satisfaction. The role requires leadership across departments, a strong financial mindset, and the ability to maintain quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or extensive experience in a hotel or related field required.
• 1-2 years of hotel experience is preferred.
• Strong financial knowledge required.
• Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and possess basic mathematical skills
• Reading, Writing, Basic Math
• Computer skills
• Brand systems

• Assists in the development of new programs which results in an increased level of guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
• Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this position and its duties.
• Ensures cross-selling of other Shamin Hotels by hotel staff.
• Teaching, mentoring, and directing hotel staff.
• Being comfortable with the high level of visibility and the leadership role within the hotel and community.

Position Overview:
