THE SMITH in New York seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead front-of-house operations, participate in hiring and training, uphold food safety standards, and ensure a memorable guest experience each shift.

As part of Corner Table Restaurants, you will help forecast and budget with the General Manager, manage policy compliance, and support a positive, team-driven culture with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Assist directly with hiring and training decisions for the front-of-house team.
• Ensure food safety, handling, and sanitation requirements for guest and staff health.
• Oversee and ensure company systems and policies are maintained.
• Provide attentive supervision on the floor to create a great guest experience.
• Train new employees with proper tools to be successful in their role.
• Enforce and maintain labor laws and practices.
• Assist GM with forecasting and budgeting.
• Attend senior management meetings in GM's absence.

THE POSITION: ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist directly with hiring and training decisions for the front-of-house team
• Hold the team accountable for food safety, food handling, and sanitation requirements to ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff
• Oversee and ensure that all company systems and policies are maintained
• Be attentive of all guests and managers while on the floor creating a great guest experience for all.
• Make sure all new employee go through the proper training and have all the necessary tools to be successful in their position.
• Enforce and maintain all labor laws and practices.
• Assist the General Manager in all forecasting and budgeting.
• Attend all necessary senior management meetings in the absence of the General Manager.

The base pay range for this position is $95,000-$110,000 per year. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on several factors, including but not limited to prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications, and skills, etc.
