Job summary

Buc-ee's Mebane LLC is opening in Mebane, NC, Fall 2027 and seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead the store team and uphold Buc-ee's standards in the absence of the Store General Manager. You will manage personnel, ensure product quality, and deliver a clean, friendly, in-stock experience for every customer.

The role requires a minimum 48-hour work week with early mornings and afternoons, including most weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Degree or 1–2 years related experience; retail or management experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Prolonged walking/standing 8–12 hours.
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays; rotating day/night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties of Store General Manager in their absence.
• Illustrate competent knowledge of POS and transaction devices.
• Reconcile multiple shift reports.
• Resolve customer and employee issues quickly and professionally.
• Assist the General Manager in recruiting, training, evaluating and managing employees.
• Ensure safety rules and regulations are implemented and followed.

The Assistant General Manager provides and promotes a Clean, Friendly, and In-Stock experience for every customer. Assistant General Manager provides passion about leading a store team to uphold Buc-ee’s standards in the absence of the Store General Manager. The Assistant General Manager should have ability to manage store personnel, ensure product quality, and promote customer service. Assistant General Managers typically work a minimum 48 hour work week consisting primarily of early mornings and afternoons, including most weekends and holidays.

• Perform duties and responsibilities of the Store General Manager in their absence or upon their discretion
• Illustrate competent knowledge of various Point of Sale and transaction devices
• Reconcile multiple shift reports
• Resolve customer and employee issues quickly and in a friendly and professional manner
• Assign and inspect elements listed on shift duty list
• Communicate professionally with the Store General Manager and employees
• Understand and apply federal, state, and local laws as they apply to retail sales and general employment matters
• Assist the General Manager in recruiting, training, evaluating and managing employees
• Assure safety rules and regulations are implemented and followed
• Accurate and rapid use of small keyboards on Point Of Sale and transactional devices
• Ability to identify and resolve immediate customer and store needs without constant supervision
• Effectively and efficiently complete tasks
• Interact professionally with other team members
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
• Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

• Degree from college or university;

• or equivalent combination of education and experience in job related field
• Retail or management experience preferred
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
• Prolonged walking and/or standing for 8-12 continuous hours
• Ability to work on the store’s busiest days including most weekends and holidays
• Ability to work a rotating schedule that alternates between day and night
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance
