Job Location: Lenexa, KS 66215 | Salary Range: $44,000.00 - $48,000.00 | Job Type: Full-time, permanent | Shifts: Day shift (Monday to Friday), Night shift, Weekends

Summary of Position

The Assistant Manager’s primary duty is to manage daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring outstanding guest service. This includes overseeing Shift Leaders and hourly staff, and acting as the highest ranking member of the management team in the General Manager’s absence. Responsibilities include financial oversight, staff development, customer service, and compliance with Company policies and state/federal laws.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Operations

• Oversee all day‑to‑day restaurant operations, ensuring Company standards for quality food, service, and sanitation are met.
• Manage and supervise Shift Leaders and hourly staff.
• Assign and direct daily work responsibilities for staff.
• Order inventory for all areas to maintain appropriate product levels.
• Reconcile cash registers at opening and closing of each shift.
• Maintain all records in compliance with Company policies and state/federal law.
• Ensure staff compliance with Company policies, procedures, standards, specifications, and applicable safety and food handling laws.

Management

• Recruit, interview, select, and hire quality staff for all positions.
• Conduct orientation and training for Shift Leaders and hourly staff.
• Perform performance reviews of Shift Leaders and other hourly staff as requested by the General Manager.
• Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, and counseling regarding production, efficiency, and professionalism.
• Conduct counseling, disciplinary action, or termination of employment for Shift Leaders and hourly staff.
• Recommend promotions or status changes for staff to the General Manager.
• Adjust work schedules to ensure full coverage; recommend scheduling changes to the General Manager.
• Approve overtime for hourly staff as necessary.

Leadership

• Display exemplary, professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Listen and communicate effectively with the General Manager, Shift Leaders, hourly staff, guests, vendors, and the community.
• Conduct management and staff meetings as directed by the General Manager.
• Follow the General Manager’s direction and accomplish set objectives.
• Review objectives with Shift Leaders and staff as necessary.
• Delegate appropriate tasks and responsibilities.
• Resolve employee complaints, questions, or concerns promptly.

Work Condition Requirements
