Not Your Average Joe’s is seeking an Assistant General Manager to drive day-to-day restaurant operations. Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee hourly staff, uphold quality standards, systems, and culture, and assist in marketing and financial results.

Qualifications

• Past experience as restaurant manager is required.
• Extensive food & beverage knowledge, with ability to recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and staff.
• Strong leadership and staff coaching skills.
• Familiarity with restaurant management software.
• Ability to coordinate a staff and maintain a neat, professional image.
• Hospitable, warm, and polite demeanor toward guests.
• Excellent problem resolution and guest recovery skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Able to stand and move for long hours in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure restaurant is fully staffed at all times.

Job Overview

As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our restaurant. Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee all hourly positions, providing leadership and ensuring the consistent execution of our quality standards, operating systems, procedures, philosophies, and culture. You will work closely with the General Manager, assisting in marketing and playing a pivotal role in overall fincancial results of the restaurant. We are seeking a friendly, energetic, and team-oriented individual with a passion for making a difference in the hospitality industry.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Ensuring that our restaurant is fully and appropriately staffed at all times
• Interviews, trains, counsels, and coaches staff
• Ensures all training materials, development and schedules are being followed
• Clearly communicating with all Team Members
• Ensures a harassment-free environment for all Team Members
• Manages and makes adjustments to labor on a shift-to-shift basis while ensuring we don't harm the Guest experience
• Achieves budgeted sales and profit goals
• Maintaining operational excellence so our restaurant is running efficiently and effectively
• Ensuring that all laws, regulations, and guidelines are being followed
• Creating a restaurant atmosphere that both patrons and employees enjoy
• Various other tasks as needed

Requirements

• Previous experience as a restaurant manager
• Extensive food and beverage knowledge, and the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff
• Great leadership skills
• Familiarity with restaurant management software
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate a staff
• Exhibits a neat, clean, and professional image at all times
• Genuinely hospitable, warm, sensitive, and polite to our Guests
• Excellent problem resolution/Guest recovery skills

• Able to work while standing and moving at a rapid pace for 10 hours as the job requires
