The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in leading all aspects of store operations to deliver exceptional customer experience and drive store performance. This role includes overseeing daily operational functions, supervising team members, executing merchandising plans, and ensuring compliance with store policies and procedures. The Assistant General Manager also plays a key role in mentoring staff, resolving customer concerns, and stepping into leadership in the General Manager’s absence.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists the General Manager in leading overall store operations to achieve company goals and deliver exceptional customer service.
• Manage sales, expenses, profits, and assets while fostering a positive and safe work environment.
• Train, delegate, and monitor associates’ progress to support their personal and professional development.
• Handle customer interactions with a friendly, outgoing demeanor and resolve issues effectively.
• Ensure store cleanliness, orderliness, and compliance with safety and loss prevention standards.

Inventory & Merchandising

• Oversee receiving, stocking, and inventory management to maintain optimal product levels.
• Support merchandise resets and ensure signage is current and attractive.
• Assist with cycle counts and manage back stock efficiently to maximize store profitability.

Leadership & Team Development

• Recruit, hire, train, and coach associates to build a motivated and enthusiastic team.
• Lead by example and foster a collaborative, supportive store culture.
• Participate actively in management meetings and communicate opportunities for improvement.
