Job summary

Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants in Chicago seeks an Assistant General Manager for Pizzeria Gabbo’s Fulton Market location. You will oversee day-to-day operations, supervise front- and back-of-house teams, train staff, and ensure exceptional guest experiences while driving sales.

This role requires 2+ years AGM experience and 5+ years in restaurant management, plus strong leadership and inventory/BOH systems proficiency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of restaurant management experience.
• 2+ years of Assistant General Manager experience in a full-service restaurant.
• Skilled in leading and developing teams.
• Experienced with inventory and BOH systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.
• Assist with training, recruitment, HR and administrative duties; assist with financial statements and customer service inquiries.
• Organize, run and supervise opening/closing shifts with exceptional guest and employee experience.
• Provide guidance and leadership to hourly and management teams.
• Respond to guest and employee needs and feedback promptly and professionally.
• Assist GM in managing costs, driving sales and meeting financial goals.
• Interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop BOH staff across sites as needed.

About US

Pizzeria Gabbo is a neighborhood pizzeria and bar located in Chicago's Fulton Market District. The menu will feature two styles of pizza — Chicago Thin & Crispy and New York Crispy, a chef’s take on a traditional New York-style with a crispier finish. The menu will also highlight Italian classics including antipasti, salads, pastas and soft-serve gelato, focusing on sourcing products from both local farms and purveyors as well as imports from abroad. The wine program will highlight Italian, artisanal family-owned wineries with more than 20 pours available by the glass. The bar program will offer a classic, all-natural Spritz list and Italian-inspired cocktails, plus low ABV and zero-proof cocktails.

Responsibilities

• Ensure day-to-day business operations run smoothly
• Assist with training, recruiting, HR and administrative duties; assist and financials / statement preparation; and assist the GM with customer service inquiries
• Organize, run and supervise smooth and efficient daily opening and closing shifts, ensuring an exceptional guest and employee experience
• Provide guidance and leadership to hourly and management teams while fostering our Culture of Caring
• Respond immediately and effectively to guest and employee needs and feedback
• Assist GM in managing costs, driving sales and growing the business in support of financial goals
• Partner with GM and management team to interview, hire, onboard, train, supervise and develop all BOH employees and teams as needed
• Perform regular and ad hoc inventories of food, beverage and restaurant supplies and track high cost items; place food, beverage and restaurant supply orders; and accept and inspect deliveries
• Model and promote teamwork across all teams
• Use tact and good judgment when dealing with challenges pertaining to guests, vendors and employees, and respond with patience and courtesy
• Work a variety of days and shifts (including early mornings, late nights and weekends) at multiple sites with or without overnight travel, as needed
• Move and lift up to 10 pounds, frequently move and/or lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications

• 5+ years of restaurant management experience
• 2+ years of AGM experience in a full-service restaurant

• Experienced with inventory and BOH systems

Salary Range

USD $70,000.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
