Position Purpose
This position provides primary transactional legal support to the Company’s Real Estate, Construction, Property Management, and Corporate Facilities teams, and supports related regulatory issues. The successful candidate must be able to identify and analyze complex legal issues, draft and negotiate various agreements including purchase, lease, construction, license, and service agreements. They must also present recommendations to minimize the company's legal exposure in transactions and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage legal affairs for the Real Estate, Construction, Property Management, and Corporate Facilities teams.
• Handle transactions and regulatory issues.
• Identify, assess risks, and recommend appropriate actions for specific business areas, including department-wide implications.
• Handle complex legal matters within area of responsibility and oversee outside counsel relationships and budgets.
• Conduct and lead negotiations for various legal matters, and perform legal research as needed.
• Prepare and present budget recommendations and manage the legal budget.

Reporting Structure

• Typically reports to an Associate General Counsel.
• Direct reports may include Corporate Counsels, Paralegals, and Administrative Assistants.

Travel Requirements

• Typically less than 10% overnight travel.

Physical and Working Conditions

• Mostly seated work in a comfortable indoor environment; occasional light movement or lifting.
• Work under pressure to meet deadlines and handle demanding situations.

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 18 years old and legally permitted to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in real estate, construction, transactions, and regulatory issues.
• 12 years of legal practice experience.

Education and Experience

• Juris Doctor or equivalent degree and licensing for practicing law.
• Minimum of 12 years of work experience as an attorney.
