Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) seeks an experienced Assistant General Counsel IV to represent the agency in a broad range of legal matters. The role includes employment, constitutional, civil rights, EMTALA, and mental health law, with duties spanning investigations, legislation, policy, ethics, and litigation in state and federal venues.
The incumbent will advise on complex issues, manage numerous cases, and support agency governance while traveling
The incumbent will represent the agency, its Board, and agency personnel in legal proceedings and will be responsible for a wide array of legal issues to include employment law, constitutional law and civil rights, EMTALA, mental health law, department investigations, legislation, policies, ethics, and litigation in all state and federal courts along with other tribunals.

The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is the state’s mental health and substance use treatment services system. The department's core mission is to provide prevention and treatment services for Oklahomans who are indigent and without a means to pay.
