Job summary

Honeywell Technologies seeks an Assistant General Counsel - Intellectual Property to influence the company’s IP strategy and protect its assets. You will report to the Chief IP Counsel for New Product Introductions and work from Charlotte, NC or Rosemont, IL on a hybrid schedule.

You’ll support the NPI IP team and drive protection, licensing, and due diligence for the Process Technology business and related entities, ensuring robust IP assets and risk mitigation across domestic and international

Qualifications

• 7+ years of legal experience in IP law (firm or in-house).
• Strong background in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or material science.
• Registered to practice as a lawyer in a major jurisdiction.
• Registered to practice before a regional patent office.

Responsibilities

• Provide IP counsel on NPI IP matters to business units and senior management.
• Manage protection and enforcement of Honeywell's IP, including patents and trade secrets.
• Implement IP strategy to identify and protect products and inventions.
• Perform freedom-to-operate and product clearance reviews.
• Conduct IP due diligence for M&A and other transactions.
• Provide input on IP terms in contracts (joint development, licensing).
• Provide IP training to mitigate risks.
• Manage external IP counsel and oversight.
