Job summary

Honeywell Technologies seeks an Assistant General Counsel - Intellectual Property to shape and protect the company’s IP strategy and portfolio. You will advise senior management, manage IP rights, and guide transactions across the NPI team, with a focus on Process Technology and UOP LLC collaborations.

This hybrid role reports to the Chief IP Counsel for New Product Introductions. Qualified candidates have 7+ years in law, a chemistry-related technical background, and robust experience in

Qualifications

• 7+ years of legal experience at a leading law-firm and/or in-house experience.
• Strong foundation in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or material science.
• Licensed to practice as a lawyer in a major jurisdiction.
• Licensed to practice before a regional patent office.
• Extensive IP experience with portfolio development and risk mitigation.
• Strong knowledge of IP licensing, joint development agreements, and M&A.
• Solid patent and trademark law understanding.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on NPI IP matters to business units and senior management.
• Manage protection and enforcement of Honeywell's IP rights (patents, trade secrets, copyrights).
• Implement IP strategy for invention mining and evaluation.
• Perform freedom-to-market and product clearance reviews.
• Conduct IP due diligence for M&A and other transactions.
• Advise on IP terms in contracts (e.g., licensing, JDA).
• Provide IP training to mitigate risks.
• Manage external IP counsel.
