Job summary

Acrisure, a global fintech leader, seeks an experienced Assistant General Counsel for North American Insurance to provide practical, risk-based legal advice across wholesale brokerage, MGA and program administration. You will draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, advise executive leadership on regulatory developments, and collaborate with Compliance and Operations to manage risk.

In-house experience in insurance distribution is highly valued, with multi-state exposure

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in wholesale brokerage, surplus lines, specialty insurance, MGA, MGU and program administrator operations.
• Strong understanding of insurance regulatory frameworks and distribution practices.
• Experience negotiating sophisticated commercial and insurance-related agreements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice on wholesale brokerage, MGA, MGU and program administration arrangements.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad portfolio of commercial agreements supporting the Specialty business.
• Develop and maintain template agreements and playbooks to accelerate timelines.
• Evaluate legal risks of new products, carrier relationships, and business opportunities.
• Advise executive leadership on business initiatives and regulatory developments.
• Partner with Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, and Operations to address legal issues affecting Specialty operations.
• Deliver practical, commercially focused guidance balancing business objectives with risk.
• Support acquisitions, integrations, and strategic transactions in the Specialty sector.
