Qualifications

• Admission to Ohio Bar and licensure as attorney is required.
• 12 months of experience as a licensed attorney.
• 6 months of experience in employee training and development.

Responsibilities

• Provides general legal advice to the Casino Control Commission.
• Drafts and facilitates implementation of new and amended administrative rules.
• Conducts legal research on complex issues and prepares opinions/memoranda.
• Reviews and responds to public records requests.
• Drafts and enforces policies and procedures; prepares Notices of Hearing and Notices of Violation.
• Supports Attorney General's Office in hearings, appeals, and litigation.
• Responds to inquiries from the public and other agencies; monitors legislation for agency impact.
• Assists in labor relations matters, including discipline and grievance processes.

The Ohio Casino Control Commission has the responsibility to ensure the integrity of casino gaming, sports gaming, skill-based amusement machines and fantasy contests by licensing, regulating, investigating and enforcing state laws.

The Ohio Casino Control Commission is a bipartisan regulatory body made up of seven Commissioners , an Executive Director and supporting staff that provides oversight of the casino gaming industry in Ohio. What You'll Do:

• Provides general legal advice to the Casino Control Commission
• Drafts and facilitates implementation of new and amended administrative rules
• Conducts legal research on a variety of complex legal issues, including preparing written opinions or memoranda
• Reviews and responds to public record requests
• Drafts and facilitates the implementation of new and amended policies and procedures
• Prepares Notices of Opportunity for Hearing and Notices of Violation for licensing and regulatory compliance violations
• Supports the Attorney Generals Office in administrative hearings, appeals, and general litigation
• Responds to inquires from the public and other governmental authorities
• Monitors legislation for agency or legal impact
• Assists in labor relations matters, including the discipline and grievance process

Supplemental Information

Compensation
Starting compensation for this position is $40.40 hourly/$84,032 annually with the opportunity to advance in pay after six months. This position is in Pay Range 14, please visit Pay Range Table for more information.

The final candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a criminal background check, including a BCI/FBI fingerprint.
