Job summary

Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, CA seeks assistant coaches/mentors for its FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) program. You will work with the Head Coach and other mentors to guide high school students through engineering, design, fabrication, programming, testing, and competition activities.

Availability for some weekday afternoon/evening practices and Saturdays is preferred; this is a part-time role scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week with compensation of $18.50–$24.00 per hour

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical design and fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of electrical systems related to robotics.
• Background in programming or controls for robots.
• FRC or competitive robotics experience preferred.
• Engineering or related technical background recommended.
• Experience mentoring or coaching high school students.

SCHEDULE

Availability for some weekday afternoon/evening practices and Saturdays is preferred, with additional availability during the January-April build and competition season. Exact schedules and responsibilities can be coordinated based on experience and availability. This is a part-time position scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week.

COMPENSATION

This is a non-exempt position with a base compensation of $18.50 - $24.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

ABOUT HARVARD-WESTLAKE

Harvard-Westlake is an independent school with two campuses in Los Angeles and approximately 1,600 students enrolled in grades 7–12. Classes for grades 7–9 take place on the Middle School campus in the Holmby Hills neighborhood, while grades 10–12 are housed on the Upper School campus in Studio City.
