Job summary

Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles, CA seeks assistant coaches/mentors for its FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) program. You will work with the Head Coach and other mentors to guide high school students through engineering, design, fabrication, programming, testing, and competition activities.

Availability for some weekday afternoon/evening practices and Saturdays is preferred; this is a part-time role scheduled to work less than 20 hours per week with compensation of $18.50–$24.00 per hour

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical design and fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of electrical systems related to robotics.
• Background in programming or controls for robots.
• FRC or competitive robotics experience preferred.
• Engineering or related technical background recommended.
• Experience mentoring or coaching high school students.

Responsibilities

• Assist with weekday practices and Saturday sessions as needed.
• Support the Head Coach and mentors in engineering, design, fabrication, programming, testing, and competition activities.
• Coordinate responsibilities based on experience and availability.
