We are seeking a motivated and safety‑focused Assistant Foreman to join our team with the opportunity to transition into a Tractor Operator role. This position is ideal for someone with experience operating heavy equipment, vegetation management machinery, and towing trailers who enjoys working both independently and as part of a field crew. This role supports vegetation management and right‑of‑way maintenance projects across the East Coast and requires travel approximately 1–2 weeks per month.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractors and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform vegetation management using brush hogs, orchard mowers, and other specialized mowing equipment.
• Safely operate pickup trucks while towing bumper‑pull and gooseneck trailers.
• Assist the Foreman with daily field operations and project coordination.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Work independently and collaboratively with a 4–5 person field crew.
• Travel to project sites throughout the East Coast as required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating tractors, agricultural equipment, or other heavy machinery.
• Experience with brush hogs, orchard mowers, or similar vegetation maintenance equipment.
• Comfort towing bumper‑pull and gooseneck trailers.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Willingness to travel 1–2 weeks per month.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Licensed to operate agricultural and/or earth‑moving equipment (2A), or ability to obtain the certification.

Preferred

• Experience in vegetation management, forestry, agriculture, landscaping, construction, or utility right‑of‑way maintenance.
• Previous leadership or crew lead experience.

This position requires

• Working in indoor and outdoor environments, including solar sites, construction sites, and industrial facilities, in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.).
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing on uneven terrain.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds or more, with or without assistance.
• Use of hands and fingers to operate tools, testing equipment, and technical devices with precision.
• Ability to safely climb ladders, scaffolding, and work at heights.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and near energized equipment while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols.
• Visual acuity to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents, and to identify potential hazards.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, harnesses, arc‑flash protection, and other job‑specific gear.
• Effective verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members, supervisors, and other trades in active work environments.

The pay range for this role is: 26 - 28.50 USD per hour (Vegetation - Donahue)
