Job summary

Genuine Foods is seeking an Assistant Food Service Director to oversee cafeteria operations across multiple schools in Barre, VT. The AFSD supports the RAM, supervises site staff, ensures NSLP compliance, and helps deliver quality service to students and educators in a collaborative team environment.

This role requires supervisory experience in a high-volume food service setting, ability to travel among 3–4 school sites, strong communication, and a commitment to Genuine Foods’ mission and values.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as an assisting supervisor in a mid/high volume food service facility or restaurant.
• Experience working with NSLP guidelines and regulations.
• Able to travel between 3–4 school sites.
• Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the RAM with daily site visits to observe operations, food prep, facilities, NSLP compliance and customer service.
• Support the food service director by managing site leads and weekly check-ins.
• Enhance culinary operations across sites and cover service roles when needed.
• Proactively communicate performance and issues to management for quick resolution.
• Train staff on standardized policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
